1 Corinthians 13

  1. Am                                                 G
If I have the eloquence of men and angels too,
    Am                                                       G
But have no love O Lord, then what shall I do?
    Dm                                                       Am
If I have prophetic powers and understand all things,
    Dm                                          Am                     Dm Em Am
    But have no love O Lord, I am nothing, O . . . nothing.
  2. If I have all faith so as to move the mountains high,
But have no love O Lord, then who am I?
And if I sacrifice my body to be burned,
But have not love in me, what have I earned? O nothing.
  3. Love has no boast nor does it harbour foolish pride. Love is not jealous or resentful inside.
Love is not arrogant or rude in any way.
Love won’t insist upon its own way. O love.
  4. As for prophecy and knowledge, they will all cease.
Love alone remains and gives us hope and peace.
And if we accept the love of Christ, God’s only Son,
We find we too can love as Christ has done, as Christ has done.
